Me and my family where able to make it down for the weekend events and had a great time, well done everyone. The photos were really good and on the web site very prompt. But we were was really relying on the you tube page and web cam to keep up with events during the week. The you tube page did not get updated like the photos and the web cam quality and sound when working was so poor and mostly wasn't working at all. Great gala but maybe next year you could have a dedicated resource looking after the photos, you tube vidoes and web cam. Maybe your sponsor finlay smart homes could rig up a high quality web viewed cctv with sound system that could keep everyone who can't make it or are overseas or housebound can join in. Great gala, great events keep up the good work.
Hi Mark, the you tube page was started in the hope that people would contribute to it, this hasn't happened and we simply don't have the resources to video everything ourselves, nor can we afford to pay someone to do it for us. The webcam is based on the Gala Stage and obviously can only cover events which take place on it. Much as we'd love to have a number of webcams, the average upload from Portaferry is under 300kps and if events are moved from the Market House, we can't bring the webcam with us. This year a number of events were moved, due to the weather and the alternative venue has no broadband access. The audio feed should have been fine - unless it had defaulted to audio from the camera instead of the dedicated feed.
