Firstly I would like to congratulate the committee on yet another fantastic gala!!
As part of the Coach Inn’s float, I would like to clear up that the ‘Parade Hold Up’ was not all to do with us, we were actually in position at cook street and ready to go from 6:30pm, the judges started to mark the score sheets at 7:20pm (which at this stage there were only 2 Floats in position behind us). We did have a soft wheel (not flat) at one stage, but this was mended and we were moving again within 5mins (max).
Well done to all the Floats, they just seem to be getting better every year!!!

Gala week was brillian, but it would have been better if there were more things on on friday, like the battle of the bands, kaeoke etc.
Well done to all the committe!!
The tea on the Tuesday after the 10 mile race was lovely!! well done Kate
The course was very tough and chalenging but very worthwhile!!
Float night was the best ever, Dummigans deffinetly deserved to win...great night..the drink was flowing well!

To The Very Annoyed Resident.
Firstly let me say, that nobody blamed the first float, it could of happened to anyone.
Secondly, This is the 1st year I have been on the gala committee, I never imagined in a million years how much work goes into Gala Week or any other event organized by the Gala Committee. This is also Caroline's 1st year. She had very big shoes to fill and I think she filled them just wright. She also has a full-time job and 2 Kids and a Father in Law that hasnt been well. So if i was you I would put my money were my mouth is and join the committee! Lets see what you can come up with! Also for starters put your name to your comments and dont be such a coward! Look forward to hearing from you.

Dear very annoyed resident.Being a gala member i speak personally none of us get a slap up meal as you put it.I was lucky if i sat down with my family for one meal all week. The committee members VOULENTEER their time and energy FREELY to make gala week what it is there is an awful amount off work that goes on behind the scenes throughout the year to make gala week happen. From the majority of the comments on here and at events mostly everyone enjoyed the week and i feel your comment about tired events is un called for.As you seem to have a lot of views and comments about the gala perhaps you should VOULENTEER your time and join the team, actually find out what goes on to make each event happen.
Thankfully your comment is a splash in the ocean compared to all the positive remarks and the enjoyment i witnessed at events because of that i love giving my time for the gala and say it is onwards and upwards from here on

What a brilliant gala!
I'm sorry to hear that the committee don't even get a meal for all the time and effort they put (all year round) into making the gala so enjoyable. They at least deserve that. Please don't be put off by the negative remarks, 99.9% of the community appreciate all you do.
Thank you all.
