Disgruntled Resident.
Yes I also agree with James and yes all pub floats were there on time.
To the disgruntled resident.
Look forward to meeting you at the next Gala Meeting.
It is not just kids waiting for the floats that get tired. The kids and adults on the floats also get tired and cold as they are usually there from approx 6.00pm. This year more people joined the commitee and if they had not do so there might not of been a gala this year, what would you have complained about then! Reading some of these letter is very sad and im sure other committee members are saying why do we bother. But i look forward to meeting all the new members next year who are going to make a difference! All Portaferry people should be proud of what their town achieves not try and knock it, thankfully its only a few.

Firstly I wish to agree with James about the Floats, the hold up was down to the judges and not the Coach Inn.
It seems every year that the floats get later and later and nothing is ever done about it, why advertise for them starting at 7 if the commitee are not prepared to start it at 7, all the bars know what time to be there, it they are not there, tough, they get penalised, they were so many young kids that had to go home disappointed from the floats cause of this, please address this situation.
There are so many Events which should be part of the gala that are not such as, Glamorous Granny, The Cabber Carrying contest, The tug of war beteween all the bars, The Gala Ball, all of these eventa were always well supported of that there is no doubt, don't keep putting in wee fillers bring back the events that get the crowd.
Note from Ed. It was unfortunate that the float parade was so late but 2 accidental issues caused the delay. The committee would love to be able to include all of the events but we do not have the time or resources to do so. If you feel strongly about re-introducing any event, join the committee and take responsibility for organising it. We would be more than happy to see you join.
