How about a street Party in the square for children with a bbq party games twister and other fun games I think it would be a good idea

Might be a nice idea for another wee trophy for the gala float parade for builders of smaller floats (a size restriction would apply). I always thought that some of the smaller floats had a lot of work put into them but never stood much hope of winning when you had those massive heavily manned big creations offered up by the pubs and wot not. Perhaps something like a gala bed pan for smaller floats and even wee groups (schools, clubs, ect) in fancy dress to win. The Saturday could be advertised (prob is just dont remember) as a big street party called something like the Poefer and the Pan Street Party 2012. lol

i was in walkers paint shop in ards at the weekend and i was talking to them about the gala and they said they would be intrested in sponsoring the gala they were saying alot of the floats would get there paint there. they were wondering if someone could call in and see them.

could the gala bring back tug of war this year i was part of dumigans team that won it the last time . and also what about a darts competion for everyone to enter i think it would go down well in portaferry thanks david. also what are the ideas for the pubs to raise money this year for the floats they need something to help them build bigger and better floats
