The AGM of Portaferry Gala took place on January 25th.
Thanks to everyone who came along and here’s to Gala 2012.
Next Wednesday evening at the Portaferry Hotel, 7.30pm, the Office Bearers will be elected for the forthcoming year.
Don’t worry if you missed the AGM, everyone is welcome to attend any Gala meeting – if you’ve something to add or would like to join us, please feel free to come along.
Portaferry Community Collective would like to thank everyone who came along to
Portaferry’s Christmas Lights Switch-on & Community Carol Service
on Saturday 3rd December.
This event was organised by Portaferry Community Collective,
Funded by Ards Borough Council, Christmas Lights Scheme and Calor Village of The Year prize money
Portaferry has won the Calor Village of the Year Competition 2011.
Judges visited the village on Tuesday 30th August, when the Portaferry Community Collective delivered presentations on different areas of the village.
Results were announced on the 18th October 2011.
Not only was Portaferry the overall winner, but it also won in the Older People’s category.
Well Done Portaferry !
Portaferry Gala Committee would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued assistance this year in making Gala 2011 a great success. We would also like to thank the people who came out to support and attend our events throughout the week and also for their great words of encouragement.
The committee are calling for new volunteers urgently as several members of the 2011 committee have stepped down with immediate effect.
